Surabaya, Kominfo – 5G network not only has advantages in data transfer speed, but has the potential to be utilized in priority sectors of development, one of which is education. The Ministry of Communication and Information prioritizes the use of 5G for the education sector which can improve the quality of human resources.<\/p>\n
“With this (the 5G network), lecturers on campus can teach students in remote areas without moving places and being hindered by network delays,” said Director General of Resources and Equipment for Post and Information Technology at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Ismail when giving a speech at the Tri 5G Trial event “The Future”. is Now” at the Ten November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, Thursday (5\/9\/2019).<\/p>\n
The Director General of SDPPI explained that the 5G trial focuses on the application of unlimited communication technology that can be useful for the development of Indonesia’s superior human resources (HR) in the future, starting from the world of education.<\/p>\n
The government, continued Director General Ismail, basically acts as a facilitator and accelerator that provides support in the form of frequency for conducting trials. \u201cSo all the trials that my friends do are free. So there is no need to pay them, they can use it for six months and can extend it for up to one year,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
According to the Director General of SDPPU, the government is ready to provide infrastructure for equitable use of the 5G network, if operators are able to prepare development investments. \u201cBack to the operators again, when will they be willing to prepare investment for development. We want the spectrum to be used for the benefit of the community,” said Ismail.<\/p>\n
The 5G technology trial activity at ITS was opened by the Minister of Communication and Information, Rudiantara, who was present through a hologram. \u201cDistance is a very big challenge in Indonesia. Therefore, the application of new technologies that can exceed distance limits is important. I really appreciate Tri and ITS and other organizing partners for helping Indonesia one step closer to a common dream, namely creating superior human resources,” said the Minister of Communications and Informatics.<\/p>\n
Minister Rudiantara said hologram technology like the one he used could be a killer application in the future. Even so, the most important thing and needs to be emphasized is to educate the public about this 5G technology, the government must fully support it so that this technology runs effectively.<\/p>\n
