Plate said the government is currently preparing a roadmap for the application of 5G network technology in Indonesia. According to him, the government is exploring many new technologies so that they can be used for ICT infrastructure development.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m preparing, this is not a promise but it should be preparing for 5G deployment,&#8221; he said in CNN TV&#8217;s Insight With Desi Anwar program with the theme &#8220;Guarding Freedom in the Digital Space&#8221;, in Jakarta, Saturday (19\/09\/2020).<\/p>\n<p>According to Minister Johnny, there are many factors that need to be considered, one of which is the arrangement of the frequency spectrum, because according to him, 5G technology changes in digital information technology which is so extraordinary.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;5G is a system signal revolution or fast evolution from digital. Therefore, the Government requires the availability of sufficient frequency spectrum. For 5G alone, we have to farm the frequency spectrum of 1,880 Mhz and especially in the frequencies of 2.3 Ghz, 2.5 Ghz, 2.6 Ghz, 3.3 Ghz, and 3.6 Ghz,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Minister of Communications and Informatics said that the effort to rearrange the radio frequency spectrum for 5G was prepared in the lowerband, coverage layer and highband so that later there would be no interference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Later on, the choice of technology will be decided by the government. In order to reach out to very rural areas, it&#8217;s 4G. But, at the same time, 5G trials have been carried out in the super high band and it was a success. We will of course choose whether it will be an industrial estate, a tourism destination, or a smart city which we will deploy 5G first. I&#8217;m watching, later this will not be a trial again but a quick win where, &#8220;he explained.<\/p>\n<p>To develop 5G technology, the Minister of Communications and Informatics assesses that Indonesia needs to consider carefully based on labor-intensive considerations as well as in terms of technology.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If 5G means unman vehicle, industrial robotic. Everyone uses robots. In Indonesia, we have to calculate this carefully. On the one hand, how we need labor intensive, on the other hand heavy technology. These are two things that we must keep in order to be at a balanced point,&#8221; he said<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, Minister Johnny stated that the Government is also planning the construction of a new industrial estate so that it can deploy 5G with benchmarks that will be determined later.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There we can deploy 5G with benchmarks, for example from Shenzhen, China, as an example. Shezshen is fully 5G. If the new capital takes too much time, we have to build it first, but there are a lot of industrial estates,&#8221; he said.
