Jakarta, Kominfo \u2013 The Ministry of Communication and Information has received support from members of the Indonesian House of Representatives in an effort to accelerate the implementation of 5G in Indonesia. Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate said the government is preparing a legal umbrella for the use of radio frequency spectrum for 5G. This setting is necessary because the availability of radio frequencies for 5G is very limited.<\/p>\n
“The government includes cooperation in the use of frequency spectrum for 5G in the Job Creation Act, so that it has a legal umbrella,” said Minister Johnny in Jakarta, Tuesday (11\/10\/2020).<\/p>\n
After the efficiency of the frequency spectrum, continued Minister Johnny, it is hoped that the public can benefit and that Indonesia can compete with other countries in terms of using the latest technology.<\/p>\n
Previously, Member of the Legislative Council of the Republic of Indonesia John Kenedy Azis said that efforts to realize 5G networks in Indonesia must be fully supported.<\/p>\n
“The DPR also supports cooperation in the use of 5G frequencies to make the government’s program to welcome industry 4.0,” he said<\/p>\n
According to Baleg Member John Kenedy Azis who is also a member of the Working Committee on the Job Creation Act, telecommunication operators are given the convenience of realizing 5G. He emphasized that the effort was in line with the Job Creation Act.<\/p>\n
“With this convenience, telecommunication operators are competing to increase 5G investment in Indonesia. In the end, it creates job opportunities for the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, DPR Member John Kenedy Azis considered that there were telecommunications operators who asked the government to include 4G technology in a Government Regulation derived from the Job Creation Law so that it could enter the radio frequency spectrum.<\/p>\n
Referring to Law Number 12 of 2011 concerning the Establishment of Legislations, it is stated that the contents of Government Regulations only contain material to carry out the Act properly.<\/p>\n
“So Government Regulations must not conflict with the Law. Moreover, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has clear goals to accelerate the implementation of 5G in Indonesia,” he said.<\/p>\n
