Jakarta, Kominfo – The government is making various efforts to implement 5G telecommunication network services. Minister of Communications and Informatics Johnny G. Plate stated that 5G technology expands economic opportunities that can be utilized by the community through the use of digital space.<\/p>\n
“We are currently developing technology and based services to provide quality services for the community,” he said at a Working Meeting with Commission I DPR RI in Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (07\/04\/2021).<\/p>\n
The Minister of Communication and Information is optimistic that the existence of the 5G telecommunications network will have a positive impact on the domestic economy, especially from the digital economy sector. “It is very likely that many industry players who are engaged in the digital space from within the country will develop rapidly with the support of this quality network,” he said.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on the implementation of the 4G telecommunications network that has occurred for some time, many digital economy actors in the country are using it as a livelihood. In fact, there are applications belonging to the nation’s children who have become large companies with the title of Unicorn or Decacorn through improving network quality.<\/p>\n
“Since 4G, Indonesia has proven to be able to host in its own country through a number of local applications that have transformed into Unicorn or Decacorn applications,” said Minister Johnny.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Communication and Information stated that the steps that have been taken so far are to implement two policies to optimize telecommunications services for better. “First, a neutral technology policy that is specifically aimed at cellular operators. Through this policy, cellular operators can flexibly use frequency licenses that have been proposed to the Government,” he explained.<\/p>\n
According to Minister Johnny, this policy makes the implementation of the latest cellular technology easy for domestic adoption without having to carry out various permits to the relevant institutions. In this way, cellular usage will also be more efficient in the future.<\/p>\n
“Cellular operators are given the flexibility to take advantage of the radio frequency bands that have been stipulated in their licenses. To implement the latest cellular technology to be more efficient and become more competitive,” he said.<\/p>\n
The second step relates to farming and refarming policies that have been carried out for the past few years. The Ministry of Communication and Informatics carefully regulates the use of frequency bands used by cellular operators. Thus, making the frequency given to the relevant cellular operator more organized.<\/p>\n
“This neat arrangement will allow the remaining regulated frequency bands to be used for the benefit of quality telecommunications networks. So, the capacity of this frequency band which is a limited natural resource can be optimized for use in the future. The purpose of this national program is to provide new frequency spots that can be utilized by cellular operators,” explained the Minister of Communication and Informatics.<\/p>\n
With the strategic steps above, Minister Johnny hopes that there will be changes in the domestic telecommunications industry business to be more automated and digitized. In fact, according to him, from now on his side is improving the quality of telecommunication networks in the past.<\/p>\n
“This increase will integrate humans with machines. So that the interaction between humans and machines can be used for various productive activities. Then, this increase will also integrate machines with machines or what is known today as the Internet of Things (IoT),” he said.<\/p>\n
In the future, armed with artificial intelligence which is currently often used in machine-to-machine integration, it will push the digital economy in the country to become even more massive. “It is a harmonious step so that it can become an enabler of Indonesia’s progress,” said Minister Johnny.<\/p>\n
