Central Jakarta, Kominfo – Minister of Communication and Informatics Johnny G. Plate stated that he has prepared support for public communication and facilitation of connectivity to make Indonesia’s G20 Presidency in 2022 a success.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the context of Recover Together Recover Stronger communication, the key message was ordered by the President, the meaning and benefits of the G20 Presidency for Indonesia. This is the first key message and has been repeatedly conveyed by the president,” he explained at the G20 Media and Communication Coordination Meeting at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics Office, Central Jakarta, Monday (15\/11\/2021).<\/p>\n
Minister Johnny stated that the meaning and benefit of the G20 Presidency for Indonesia is the most effective communication related to the little people. Therefore, each relevant ministry and institution has an important role, such as the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.<\/p>\n
“Because of that, the key message is resilience and endurance in the midst of a pandemic,” he said.<\/p>\n
With the theme of the G20 Indonesia Presidency \u201cRecover Together Recover Stronger\u201d, the Minister of Communication and Informatics stated that another issue that is also of common concern regarding the meaning and benefits of the G20 Presidency is acceleration and recovery in all fields, both in the financial and non-financial sectors.<\/p>\n
“So the President’s request is very broad, so this is perhaps our concern regarding key messages. So we have to organize our joint work in addition to the daily work we do,” he said.<\/p>\n
IMEI and 5G facilitation<\/strong><\/p>\n Minister Johnny explained that during the G20 Presidency led by Indonesia, the government needed to prepare a number of facilities from 118 meetings in 21 locations.<\/p>\n “This includes 100 Webex accounts used in the G20 Presidency for online meetings, the G20 Indonesia.id email server for all meetings, including working groups,” he explained.<\/p>\n In addition, the Minister of Communication and Informatics has also prepared limited discussions for cellular telecommunications networks and IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity).<\/p>\n \u201cOne thing that remains special this time we have to prepare is IMEI. So later we will open limited IMEI facilities for delegates and guests, because there are thousands of people who come, meaning there must be thousands of IMEIs that must be opened and closed,” he said.<\/p>\n During the 2022 G20 Presidency, the government will provide limited IMEI facilities to delegates and guests from various countries. According to Minister Johnny, this was done because Indonesia has strict regulations to prevent the smuggling of cellphones from abroad.<\/p>\n “So, if you don’t have a registered cellphone, you can’t use a SIM card in the country. This means that it can turn on (mobile) but cannot use a SIM card, he must use a SIM card in his own country because he is registered on the IMEI of his country, “he said.<\/p>\n In terms of telecommunication infrastructure, the Minister of Communications and Informatics emphasized that the government has prepared adequate 4G and 5G network capacity in locations where the G20 2022 Presidency will be implemented, as was the case at previous national events.<\/p>\n “I think it can be deployed (5G Experience), because we have tried it during the Asean Games, we have also tried it during PON and Peparnas. In the past, the frequency was very limited, now there are far more, so it should be better,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Presidential Staff Office, Moeldoko; Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Angela Tanoesoedibjo; and Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises II, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Minister Johnny was accompanied by the Secretary General, Mira Tayyiba; Director General of Information and Public Communication, Usman Kansong; Director General of Informatics Applications, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, and Special Staff of the Minister of Communication and Information Dedy Permadi.<\/p>\n
