Handoko assessed that the presence of 5G infrastructure could open up creative economic opportunities based on digital innovation. According to him, this can be realized by strengthening infrastructure and digital talent.<\/p>\n
\u201cCreative economy is a process of added value originating from the creativity of individuals who have knowledge, technology and arts and culture as producers of goods, services, or works of art. So, in anticipating the challenges of global creative economy competition, it is necessary to prepare a number of strategies. In addition to strengthening digital infrastructure, what is no less important is the strengthening of the HR side of digital talent,” he said in the Webinar “5G and the Role of Electrical Engineers in the Development of Indonesia’s Digital Transformation”, from Jakarta, Saturday (26\/06\/2021).<\/p>\n
The head of BRIN stated that in the era of the digital economy, there are many opportunities that can be generated and there are a number of challenges that must be resolved together by all stakeholders.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome things that must be considered, namely; more efficient use of resources, encourage financial transparency, improve people’s welfare, and encourage a digital footprint,” he explained.<\/p>\n
However, according to Handoko, the digital economy and digital technology are not the goal but a change in behavior and efficiency of business processes which are expected to provide great benefits for the community and business actors.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the Head of BRIN reminded that in the era of the digital economy, everyone will have more equal opportunities in their role in being involved in the economy. “It’s not like in the conventional economic era. The digital economy and digital innovation open up opportunities for the creation and improvement of Indonesia’s creative economy on a large scale,” he explained.<\/p>\n
One of the things that the government has prepared, according to Handoko, is by strengthening the domestic ICT industry and adopting the latest technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT). This is done through the implementation of superior HR management so that digital innovation and the creative economy can continue to grow.<\/p>\n
“Digital innovation must continue to run parallel with the development of the presence of 5G services in Indonesia so that 5G use cases can be of maximum benefit, especially for the Indonesian people and nation,” said the Head of BRIN.<\/p>\n
The webinar organized by the Indonesian Engineers Association) and the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Indonesia Section, especially in the Government Relations Chapter, is expected to be a forum for academics to work together in building 5G-based technology solutions.<\/p>\n
