The XX National Sports Week in Papua has been going on for almost a week. According to the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, the four-year sporting event that took place during the pandemic, according to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Johnny G. Plate, went well.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Communication and Information stated that the pillars of the success of the national event were the deployment of 5G network telecommunication services and the rapid and widespread dissemination of information.<\/p>\n

“(PON XX Papua) can also be successful because it is supported by 5G experience, which is carried out by Telkomsel at the Kominfo Media Center here,” he said while reviewing the Media Center of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, in Jayapura Regency, Papua, Thursday (07\/10\/ 2021).<\/p>\n

According to Minister Johnny, the 5G service that supports the Media Center of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics allows information about the implementation of the XX Papua PON to be enjoyed by people throughout Indonesia.<\/p>\n

“Services at the Media Center, both the main Media Center and the three clusters, are also going well. The national news distribution is also good. Even at the opening of the XX Papua PON, which was conducted by the President, it also reached the entire community nationally,” he explained.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Communication and Information stated that the support for 5G signal services helps media crews in disseminating information to the public faster and of better quality.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth in terms of news speed and clearer images. I thank the Kominfo Media Center for being able to transmit news quickly to the public. Hopefully, during the implementation of this PON, it can run well as we all hoped, so that the success of the PON implementation can be enjoyed and felt directly by the national community,” he said.<\/p>\n

In addition to the reach of information dissemination at the national level, Minister Johnny hopes that information regarding the XX Papua PON can also reach neighboring Indonesia.<\/p>\n

“So that this PON showcase becomes one of the benchmark examples of how the implementation of a large national event carried out during the pandemic can be carried out properly, this is what we all hope for,” he said.<\/p>\n

Support Athlete Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

The presence of President Joko Widodo at the opening of the XX Papua PON as well as the implementation of sports competitions with good infrastructure support, according to the Minister of Communication and Information, shows the government’s commitment to support the development of Papua.<\/p>\n

“Our hope is of course together, the President’s hope is also with the construction of massive and massive sports infrastructure in Papua, after PON can be used properly,” he said.<\/p>\n

Minister Johnny appreciated the optimism of the athletes competing in the XX Papua PON as the nation’s best sons and daughters. Therefore, the Minister of Communication and Information hopes that the XX Papua PON event will raise the enthusiasm of athletes to compete in both national and international events.<\/p>\n

“We can see that the implementation of the PON is good, going well, the people feel the excitement, achievements and competitions are also going well. There are sports achievements achieved, medals are also spread nationally in various provinces. This also indicates that sports It has spread all over the country,” he said.<\/p>\n

Minister Johnny hopes that the facilities and infrastructure that are already available during XX PON will be able to facilitate athletes, especially from Papua and West Papua, to be better prepared to take part in the next sporting event.<\/p>\n

“We certainly hope that after this there will be annual events in certain sports where the facilities are already available in Papua. Because this facility is very good, I think what is built is modern, making it easier for athletes so that of course later achievements We hope that national athletes will also increase, there will be more tournaments, and that is the entry point for national tourism in the field of sports,” he said.<\/p>\n

Strengthen Health Protocol<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to preparing various facilities and infrastructure to support the excitement of PON XX Papua, the Government has also tightened health protocols and continues to monitor tracing and tracking to control the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

“Monitoring tracing and tracking related to Covid-19 is running well and quickly, so that the detection of athletes affected by Covid-19 can be carried out quickly and handling is carried out properly,” explained the Minister of Communication and Information.<\/p>\n

Minister Johnny emphasized that the tracing and tracking process must continue to be improved to ensure that the XX Papua PON event in all sports can also run smoothly. Therefore, the use of the PeduliLindung application must be carried out massively.<\/p>\n

“Because this application is very helpful for community activities, it really supports our economic recovery. Because tracing and tracking there can be done properly, so that prevention of further transmission can be done early in spots or in public places, including PON, ” he explained.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Communication and Information hopes that the PeduliLindung application will become part of community activities and continue to be used during the pandemic until the endemic period.<\/p>\n

“There are three things that concern us, the first is definitely the implementation of disciplined and strict health protocols, especially wearing masks, the second is massive vaccination that reaches the community so that by the end of this year hopefully 208 million people can be reached by the vaccination process, and the third more massive use of PeduliLindung,” he explained.<\/p>\n

During a visit to the Media Center PON XX Papua, Minister Johnny was accompanied by the Director General of Information and Public Communication Usman Kansong; Director General of Information Applications Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan; and the President Director of the Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency, Anang Latif.<\/p>\n

This visit was the second time the Minister of Communication and Informatics visited the Jayapura Regency Cluster Media Center. After the review, Minister Johnny continued his working visit to the Jayapura Class II Radio Frequency Spectrum Monitoring Center.<\/p>\n
