Head of the Belu Regency Tourism Office, Remingius Asa, said the government wanted to make Belu Regency a cultural festival for Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Remingius Asa to pro 3, RRI on Friday (12/14/2018). As stated by President Jokowi, he wants to build Nawacita to boost tourism from the edge of the country and various communities which can even affect the public’s interest from capital owners to visitors later.

He explained that the creative economy is the most inclusive sector. Anyone can do it, regardless of male or female, highly educated or low-educated, whether disabled or not, the important thing is to be able to work and make products, then he is already a creative economy actor.

He said President Jokowi had ordered that each ministry or agency level work to the border. Last year, he found many creative economy entrepreneurs in Belu who make superior products, but don’t know how to present them well. ” he explained.

He added that he hoped the residents would seize the opportunity. Asa gave an example, the school uniforms worn by Belu’s students mostly come from one manufacturer. “Why doesn’t this see an opportunity. We never think about business opportunities in terms of the creative economy and tourism,” he said.

Actually, there are many creative economy actors in Belu. “But just to make a sale, make it again and then sell it again, don’t think about the market,” he said. “What we should be doing is not making one product but thinking about how to market it,” he said.

As explained, Asa invites creative economy activists in Belu to take advantage of Kombet Kreatif’s activities to gain knowledge on how to brand and storytelling their products.

He also explained that currently in Jakarta, food packaged with leaves is sold at twice the price of what is served on a plate. “The way of packaging and sales methods are really thought out,” he concluded.
