Makassar,12 Juni 2025\u2013 Politeknik Pariwisata Makassar menyelenggarakan Konferensi \u201cEvent Tanpa Jejak\u201d, sebuah acara edukatif dan inspiratif yang digagas oleh mahasiswa semester 4, kelas C, Program Studi Pengelolaan Konvensi dan Acara (PKA). Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari implementasi pembelajaran praktik yang menekankan pentingnya transformasi industri event ke arah yang lebih berkelanjutan dan inklusif.<\/p>\n
Acara dimulai secara meriah dengan penampilan Tari Mappadendang, dilanjutkan dengan laporan Ketua Panitia. Sebagai bentuk komitmen terhadap aksesibilitas, konferensi ini menghadirkan juru bahasa isyarat, menjadikannya sebagai event yang ramah bagi penyandang disabilitas, khususnya tunarungu dan tunawicara.<\/p>\n
Dalam sambutannya, Kepala Program Studi PKA, \u200cAmiruddin Hamzah, menyampaikan bahwa konferensi ini merupakan respons terhadap himbauan pemerintah untuk menciptakan event-event hijau yang berkelanjutan. Ia menekankan bahwa mahasiswa tidak hanya belajar tentang masa depan bisnis event, tetapi juga masa depan bumi. \u201cEvent ini bukan hanya tugas akademik, melainkan langkah nyata menuju transformasi industri event yang minim dampak lingkungan dan tetap memberikan nilai edukatif tinggi,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n
Konferensi dibuka secara resmi oleh Wakil Direktur III Poltekpar Makassar, Dr. Syahrial, yang mewakili Direktur Poltekpar Makassar, Bapak Harry Rachmat Widjaja. Dalam sambutannya, beliau menegaskan pentingnya menyelenggarakan acara-acara yang memperhatikan aspek keberlanjutan lingkungan dan aksesibilitas sosial.<\/p>\n
\u201cDengan penuh kebanggaan, saya menyambut anda semua pada Konferensi Event Tanpa Jejak yang dilaksanakan di kota Makassar tercinta ini. Acara ini bukan hanya sebuah pertemuan biasa, melainkan momentum penting untuk bersama-sama mencari solusi nyata dalam mengelola sampah di setiap acara yang kita selenggarakan, khususnya yang memiliki risiko meninggalkan jejak sampah sekali pakai,\u201d ucapnya dalam sambutan pembukaan.<\/p>\n
Acara ini menghadirkan narasumber utama dalam sesi pleno, Kepala Dinas Pariwisata Kota Makassar, Muhammad Roem, S.STP., M.Si., yang membawakan materi bertema \u201cSDGs dan Tantangan Limbah Event Sekali Pakai.\u201d Beliau menyoroti pentingnya keterlibatan semua pihak dalam mengintegrasikan tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan ke dalam praktik industri event, yang selama ini dikenal menyumbang limbah dalam jumlah besar.<\/p>\n
Selain sesi pleno, konferensi juga dilanjutkan dengan sesi paralel yang menghadirkan berbagai narasumber dan praktisi industri. Tak hanya itu, penayangan film pendek bertema lingkungan juga menjadi bagian dari agenda untuk memperkuat pesan dan kesadaran peserta tentang pentingnya pengelolaan sampah dan praktik berkelanjutan dalam setiap kegiatan.<\/p>\n
Melalui konferensi ini, mahasiswa tidak hanya menunjukkan kapasitas mereka dalam merancang dan melaksanakan acara berskala besar, tetapi juga menyuarakan komitmen terhadap lingkungan dan inklusivitas. \u201cEvent Tanpa Jejak\u201d diharapkan dapat menjadi contoh nyata bahwa langkah kecil dari kampus mampu memberikan dampak besar bagi masa depan industri event yang lebih hijau, adil, dan bertanggung jawab.<\/p>\n

THE STUDENTS OF EVENT AND CONVENTION MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME (PKA) HOLDS \u201cEVENT TANPA JEJAK\u201d CONFERENCE TO ENCOURAGE THE PRACTICE OF SUSTAINABLE AND INCLUSIVE EVENT MANAGEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Makassar, 12th<\/sup> June 2025 \u2013 Politeknik Pariwisata Makassar held \u201cEvent Tanpa Jejak\u201d conference, an educational and inspiring event initiated by the fourth-semester students from Class C of Event and Convention Management Programme (PKA). This activity is part of a practical learning implementation, highlighting the importance of transforming the event industry towards greater sustainability and inclusivity.<\/p>\n The event began festively with a traditional Mappadendang<\/em> dance performance, followed by a report from the Chair of the Organising Committee. As a demonstration of its commitment to accessibility, the conference featured a sign language interpreter, making it friendly and inclusive for participants with disabilities, particularly those who are hard of hearing and mute.<\/p>\n In his opening remarks, Amiruddin Hamzah,<\/em> S.Pd., M.Hum, the Head of Event and Convention Management Programme, stated that the conference was a response to the government\u2019s call to create green, sustainable events. He stressed that students are not only learning about the future of the event business, but also about the future of the planet.<\/p>\n \u201cThis event is not merely an academic assignment; it is a concrete step towards transforming the event industry into one that minimises environmental impact while offering strong educational value,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The conference was officially commenced by Dr Syahrial, S.Sos., M.AP, the Deputy Director III of Politeknik Pariwisata Makassar, on behalf of the Director, Dr Herry Rachmat Widjaja. In his speech, he emphasised the importance of organising events that consider both environmental sustainability and social accessibility.<\/p>\n \u201cWith great pride, I welcome you all to \u201cEvent Tanpa Jejak\u201d Conference which is held in our beloved city, Makassar. This event is not just a regular gathering, but a critical moment for us to collectively seek real solutions for managing waste at events\u2014especially those prone to generating single-use waste,\u201d he stated in his opening address.<\/p>\n The conference featured a keynote session with Muhammad Roem, S.STP., M.Si.<\/strong>, The Head of Tourism Office of Makassar, who presented on \u201cSDGs and the Challenge of Single-Use Waste in Events.\u201d He underlined the need for active collaboration among all stakeholders to integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into event practices, which has long been known for generating large amounts of waste.<\/p>\n In addition to the plenary session, the conference included parallel sessions with various speakers and industry practitioners.
