SURABAYA – Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Rudiantara appears in a hologram projection in Indonesia’s 5G 3 trial at the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, today (5/9/2019). He revealed that the application of new technology is able to help young Indonesians who break through the limits of achievement.
This holographic technology with 5G connectivity can be an example for distance learning. The reason is, someone who is far away can be present in that place. Rudiantara himself is in Jakarta and the 5G trial was carried out at the ITS Surabaya campus, the distance is 785 km.
According to him, distance is a very big challenge in Indonesia. Therefore, the application of technology to be able to transcend distance becomes important.

Rudiantara said that the 5G network is a very fast internet and no longer buffering. The government also, continued Rudiantara, encourages 5G trials, in addition to providing incentives to provide trials in new fields.
“So the BHP frequency is zero or does not pay. Because you want to get new technology. Furthermore, the ecosystem must also be developed, one of which is also the frequency. The most ideal is for the 5G network, which is 3.5 GHz but still used by satellite. But while waiting, you can use other frequencies to get other applications. Indonesia’s 5G 3 trial uses a 28GHz spectrum loaned by Kominfo. Then it is carried out in an end-to-end live system that uses millimeter wave frequencies for 5G gNB radio, 80GHz for E-Band transport, NSA3x for 5G Core network in Semarang, HSS, PCRF, and VoLTE IMS in Jakarta, and 5G devices.
